From the Very Depths is the thirteenth full-length studio album by the blackened speed metal band Venom.
Unlike the previous effort Fallen Angels which introduced a new NWOBHM-esque vision to the band's iconic sound, the album From the Very Depths sees Venom attempting to recombine the primitive proto-black metal of their early days with the more modern and aggressive style of war metal.
Despite being somewhat successful here, while retaining many NWOBHM influences, notably from Motörhead, the ultimate fusion between Venom's style of proto-black metal and war metal would happen on Unholy, an album that heavily builds upon From the Very Depths.
