Death Cult Armageddon is the sixth full-length studio album by the symphonic "black metalcore" band Dimmu Borgir.
Like the two previous Dimmu Borgir efforts, Enthrone Darkness Triumphant and Spiritual Black Dimensions, respectively released in 1997 and 1999, the album Death Cult Armageddon sees the band Dimmu Borgir abandoning more and more of their original, albeit generic, black metal roots and moving even closer to the "symphonic metalcore" of Nightwish, Cradle of Filth and Enya.
The next album In Sorte Diaboli would see Dimmu Borgir conclude this transformation completely, all the way down to the "sing-song" clean vocals appearing during the chorus sections - early attempts are made here on some Death Cult Armageddon tracks - like their idol Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy.
The seventh track "Allehelgens død i Helveds rike" can be translated as "The Death of All Saints in the Kingdom of Hell". It contains a riff taken from Burzum's "Beholding the Daughters of the Firmament" from Filosofem.
