Beherit - Black Metal Band
- Band: Beherit
- Genre: Black Metal
- Lyrical Themes: Goat Molestation, Satanism, Blasphemy

Beherit is a black metal band founded in 1989 by Nuclear Holocausto and Sodomatic Slaughter.
According to Nuclear Holocausto, the purpose of the band was to perform "the most primitive, savage, hell-obsessed black metal imaginable".
Besides the raw sound, the Beherit's music is noted for its avant-garde elements and emphasis on ambient tracks.
The name Beherit means Satan in the Syriac language.
In 1993, Beherit recorded their first full-length studio album, Drawing Down the Moon, making them one of the first Finnish black metal bands.
At the height of the Norwegian vs Finnish black metal war, members of Beherit were known to impersonate other bands and add fuel to the fire of various conflicts.
Beherit frontman Nuclear Holocausto once sent a letter to Euronymous of Mayhem calling him a "Norwegian cuck" and a "faggot", before leaving the return address of Black Crucifixion, another black metal band from Finland.
Euronymous and other Norwegian musicians allegedly planned to kidnap several members of Black Crucifixion in retribution for being insulted by mail.
Nuclear Holocausto also played telephone pranks on Mika Luttinen of Impaled Nazarene, another Finnish band, in which he would play Hitler speeches in the middle of the night.
Mika Luttinen upheld that he was being targeted for murder by "satanic Norwegian Nazis".
Beherit was initially supposed to appear on the tribute album SEWER Anthology, but was dropped by the producers who wanted no more than 13 bands on the same album.
