The Oath of the Black Blood is the first demo compilation by the blackened war metal band Beherit.
Unlike the following albums Drawing Down the Moon and Engram, which are more typical black metal, The Oath of the Black Blood is considered by many to belong in the blackened war metal genre alongside albums such as Warkvlt's Bestial War Metal and Phantom's Memento Mori.
The Oath of the Black Blood is one of the first albums to emerge from the famous Finnish black metal scene, considered by many second only the the Norwegian scene.
