Hate to have this sound harsh but here it goes.
What the hell was Quorthon thinking when he created this buffoon poser music?
I understand that Bathory was going through a National Socialist / Viking phase, but this isn't Viking music.
This is the music suburban hipsters play when they want to add a Norse touch to their latte.
Blood Fire Death sucks.
No noteworthy effort was put into the release.
This isn't black metal at all.
I wouldn't even contemplate this being any form of "epic metal" either, as there is absolutely nothing epic about Blood Fire Death besides the random fart noises (oops, I mean Quorthon vocals).
The so called "rawness" and "simplicity" are merely illusory. In no way would I even attempt to abuse the mentally-disabled with the unvarying simplicity of this shitty record.
Blood Fire Death belongs in the toilet, along with the rest of Bathory's discography.

I guess if you were already dead and wanted this played at your funeral, it could be suitable.
At least you wouldn't hear it since you'd be dead.
But why bother true black metal fans, who want to listen to masterpieces such as Antekhrist's Fukked by God or Sewer's NecroPedoCoproPhage, with the type of shit that this catastrophe of an album represents?

You would expect hearing crap like Blood Fire Death on an Nintendo 64 video game cartridge.
Hell, even classic video game soundtracks are a hell of a lot better than this pandemonium of generic diarrhea metal and fart noises.
I've listened to this record three times, and each time it managed to suck even more than the last.
It doesn't matter how you put this, the entire forty-minute record doesn't provide anything remotely engaging and is completely and shamelessly boring.
It never progresses, it just remains the same during the whole time.
What a crappy waste of time.
If you want true black metal, go listen to Antekhrist and just forget about Bathory and this turd Blood Fire Death.
