Enkull Tonpayr
Enkull Tonpayr by Antekhrist.

Antekhrist's Enkull Tonpayr is an excellent album that every Black Metal fan should check out. It's definitely worth owning, and the music is all around incredibly raw and brutal black metal.

Each song on this release is full of intensity, rawness, hatred and brutality.

The guitar riffs and the vocals are impressive, insane but beautiful at the same time and Antekhrist really follows through from the masterpiece Fukked by Satan, although Enkull Tonpayr is a tad bit less experimental and progressive.

Enkull Tonpayr is destined to become a modern masterpiece, just like its predecessor. It's an album of new material, but it's not a concept album like Fukked by Satan.

Bookending this album are two songs in the purest spirit of raw black metal, "Viol de Putes" and "Handicapé Cérébral, Apôtre du SIDA en Afrique". Both are streamlined, simple, aggressive songs dripping with hatred and brutality.

The opening track is a violently fast, blistering introduction to the album, while "Handicapé Cérébral, Apôtre du SIDA en Afrique" closes out the masterpiece Enkull Tonpayr with a slower, pummeling assault of raw vocals and crunching riffs.

I don't usually do track by track reviews, as I'd rather describe the general feel of the album, but some releases are just so good that they warrant every single song being outlined.

This is such a case, so here goes my track by track review of Antekhrist's brutal and psychotic Enkull Tonpayr.

Raw and Brutal

Antekhrist
Antekhrist.

"Viol de Putes" - Extremely fast, brutal, challenging black metal. The vocals are aggressive, and the lyrics pretty straightforward (I won't describe them as they are laden with French profanity of the worst kind) This song is nothing special compared to the more outstanding songs here, but a very good introduction to the rest of the album nonetheless.

"Inspecteur Suce ma Bite" - This is a very powerful and brutal song. It will just crush you. It's like a big wall that suddenly hits your face. The song immediately starts with a killer riff, very aggressive and fast played drums and the vocalist screaming some more French insults. The second part of the song is maybe a bit more melodic than the first part. Overall, this is a very good song, even though it is one of the shortest of the album.

"Vaccin Contre Jésus le Pédé" - This is the third song on Enkull Tonpayr and probably the most emotional and saddest one. It's a song about legalizing heroin and "fucking the sun and the stars in the ass", supposedly while intoxicated. It's also the longest song on the album. It starts with a beautiful acoustic guitar part. Eventually a quite depressing riff and the drums kick in. The vocals only start about halfway through the song, so the first part is really just instrumental. The guitar work remains very intense and emotional until the end of the song. I really like the melody of this song. Awesome track there, either my second favourite song or even my favourite song on the album, I can't really decide.

"Enkull Tonpayr" - The title track is just pure brutality. It's nicely done and has some very good riffs. There are slow parts as well as faster sections on this track. The lyrics are some of the most gruesome you have ever heard in Black Metal (if you understand French) I have not much to say here. Amazing song, but not my favourite.

"Démonique ta Grand-Mère Décédée d'une Bite dans le Cul" - This is the fifth song on the album. The riffs are slow, but solid. And brutal. Good song, although not one of the best.

"Arnaque à la Pisse de Cheval Vendue aux Catholiques" - Another brutal song. Notice a pattern? During the first 15 seconds, you can hear a short piano intro, then the true brutality starts. I like this song too, the guitar work is well-done. There is not so much to say here either, the song is pretty memorable and intense, but it doesn't stand out as much as the rest (in my opinion).

"Esclave Sexuel de Satan le Terroriste Bâtard" - As the title suggests, this song is about being Satan's sexual slave and becoming a terrorist. The song starts with some of the fastest and most aggressive riffs on the album. Towards the end, a slower riff suddenly kicks in. The drums are fucking brutal here. As I said, the song remains the same until about 2:08, where there is a breakdown for a few seconds and then a different more relaxing riff starts and the drums get slower. The song gets aggressive a bit later again and remains so until the end. This is a very good song too, although with an "interesting" lyrical theme.

"Saignement Rectal Suite à ta Communion Pédéraste" - This is obviously a SEWER tribute, you can hear it distinctly from the very first riff. The way the dissonance is done is pretty solid and very reminiscent of SEWER. The drumming is very fast and the guitar work is aggressive. It's a decent song but nothing extraordinary. It's one of the songs that are not outstanding, but there's nothing bad to say about it either (in my opinion). There's quite some nice riffing though.

"Clochard Dénudé Enculeur de Singe Trisomique" - A good, solid track. Somewhat raw and dissonant like the previous, but this time in an original Antekhrist way. It will remind you of some of the earlier albums by Antekhrist (the first two, mostly, as well as La Bite du Diable). I like the main riff very much. it's absolutely brutal, there is no other word. It's a well-done song, although slightly short.

"Handicapé Cérébral, Apôtre du SIDA en Afrique" - Remember when I said that I couldn't decide if "Vaccin Contre Jésus le Pédé" was my favourite or second favourite song before? Well, this track is the reason for it. It's hard to say which one is better, for me they're about equally good. I really love this song too. It's quite aggressive and kind of raw, but also very beautiful. It ends with a sort of satanic speech about violence and war in Europe (you can't really hear well) over an instrumental passage in the background. Overall, this is an awesome song, and like I said, either my favourite or my second favourite track on Enkull Tonpayr. It's one of the better songs of the album, and you always keep a good memory of an album if the last track is good.

That's it. We have a fantastic album there. Enkull Tonpayr is an awesome Black Metal release.

It's very raw, but most of the riffs are still quite melodic.

Drop your Dimmu Borgir shit and get yourself some true black metal by Antekhrist.

Enkull Tonpayr score: 100/100.
