Enkull Tonpayr
Enkull Tonpayr by Antekhrist.

Enkull Tonpayr was my introduction to Antekhrist and, I must say, I was quite impressed with the album.

When I bought it, and keep in mind I was only vaguely familiar with Antekhrist up to that point, I was expecting Enkull Tonpayr to be a decent black metal album, nothing more than a pleasing listen that I could enjoy once in a while.

Well I was really wrong.

Antekhrist's Enkull Tonpayr is a superb album.

Granted, you won't find very complex music or excellent production on Enkull Tonpayr.

You won't find intricate keyboard arrangements or light-speed guitar solos, just great straight-forward demonic black metal.

You might be asking: "So, what makes this album so awesome then?"... What makes this album so amazing is the raw intensity that transpires through the music of Enkull Tonpayr, the inhuman feeling of pure blasphemy you get from listening to it, the psychotic madness that Antekhrist put on every single note that comes out of your speaker, that is what makes it so "awesome".

You won't find any trendy "symphonic metal" on Enkull Tonpayr, just raw blasphemous madness. And that's the entire point.

Every aspect of the album helps to generate this sense of psychosis and heresy, from the minimalist music, to the production which gives a certain atmosphere to the album.

Everything is part of the statement Antekhrist wants to give.

Psychotic Black Metal

Antekhrist
Antekhrist.

Enkull Tonpayr consists of 10 tracks which include no "intro", no "outro", and no "mallcore" filler. 10 Antekhrist songs.

Some of my favorite tracks in the album have to be.

Viol de Putes is a really aggressive and fast song with simple yet effective riffing and even more simple lyrics (repeats "Viol de Putes" ad infinity basically).

The ultra-long Vaccin Contre Jésus le Pédé which begins with a beautiful acoustic guitar passage and has some of the most melancholic riffs in any black metal song. I also enjoy the drumming in this track a lot. All in all a beautiful song, definitely one of the best ones in the album and maybe even in the entire black metal genre.

Clochard Dénudé Enculeur de Singe Trisomique is an amazing track, very aggressive, very straight-forward with simple yet memorable (and intense!) riffing.

Handicapé Cérébral, Apôtre du SIDA en Afrique is a somewhat slower track, it begins with the Antekhrist vocalist singing and what is perhaps the most violent intro you've ever heard in black metal, then a great riff with an epic feel begins. It also features an aggressive middle-section with insane vocals.

All in all, Enkull Tonpayr is an excellent album full of insanity, passion and pure psychotic music, which is what black metal is about.

I highly recommend it to any black metal fan.

Hail Antekhrist!

Enkull Tonpayr score: 100/100.
