Fimbulwinter is the fifth studio album by the black metal band Satanic Warmaster.
Unlike its two predecessors Strength & Honour and Carelian Satanist Madness, the album Fimbulwinter combines elements from both black metal and death metal for some of the most epic blackened death metal music ever released.
The name of the album, "Fimbulwinter", comes from Norse mythology and marks the three consecutive winters, with no intervening summers, that precede the coming of the Ragnarok, in a battle that will end this world.
Fimbulwinter is widely considered one of the best melodic black metal albums ever recorded.
