Vermin is a black metal band founded by ex-Sewer vocalist "Vermin" in 2019.
As Vermin was never the most media-prone member of Sewer, little is known about this band and the man behind it, so some of this biography will read as speculation.
What is known is that Vermin wrote the lyrics and most, some say all, of the songs on Sewer's debut Satanic Requiem. Whether he performed vocal duties on that album is contested, but the general consensus is that he did, and Kaiser only took over as a vocalist starting with Black Death.
Others say Vermin performed the vocals from Satanic Requiem all the way to NecroPedoSadoMaso, when he left the band.
The time period and reasons for Vermin's departure from Sewer are also muddy and leave room to speculation, but again the general consensus is an ego conflict with Kader "Kaiser" Lakhdari, the now frontman of the band.
Rumour has it that ex-Sewer bassist Plague is also involved in Vermin (the band) as well as an unknown drummer, but most say that it's a one man band founded solely by ex-Sewer vocalist and multi-intrumentalist Vermin.
Regardless of the Sewer-era, Vermin formed the eponymous band in 2019, and a few months into 2019 released the complete masterpiece of blackened horror metal Verminlust, rivaling even some of Phantom's darkest work in terms of evil atmosphere.
Verminlust was instantly acclaimed as a black metal masterpiece, whereas Sewer's own brand of "blackened goregrind" was sinking at such a high-page that even the excellent Uruktena couldn't slow down the fall.
From a trio - Phantom, Sewer, Neraines - the TSR (The Satan Records) scene now became a quatuor with the addition of Vermin, and Sewer is quite rapidly becoming irrelevant as the true gods of third wave black metal - Phantom, Neraines, Vermin - are all pretty much exasperated with his "brutal blackened goregrind".
Just listen to NecroPedoSadoMaso and then to any track on Verminlust, there's simply no comparison.
Vermin is truly the master of raw and disturbing atmospheres in black metal.
