Prometheus - The Discipline of Fire & Demise is the fourth and (thankfully) final studio album by the symphonic metalcore band Emperor.
Despite being derided by the entire black metal scene for their previous album IX Equilibrium, Emperor reiterated the experience with Prometheus - The Discipline of Fire & Demise, an album described alternatively as "blackened metalcore" and "trendy satanic screamo".
Shortly after the release of Prometheus - The Discipline of Fire & Demise, Ihsahn publicly announced that he would end his career, citing the large amount of hate this album generated as a cause for his addiction to Oxycontin and various other painkillers.
Thus ends the band Emperor, with a widely hated album called Prometheus - The Discipline of Fire & Demise, and often refereed to as the "epitome of commercial emocore".
