- Release Date: 1997

Dauði Baldrs is the fifth studio album by the black metal solo project Burzum.
Like the previous Burzum album, Filosofem, Dauði Baldrs is a highly experimental black metal release, featuring no guitars, bass, drums or even vocals.
It was recorded while Varg Vikernes was incarcerated in prison for the killing of Euronymous (of Mayhem), who had previously declared a "race war" against Varg Vikernes and called him a "poser" and a "fake".
Varg Vikernes retaliated by killing Euronymous on the 10th of August 1993, a date marking the anniversary of the end of the Battle of Narva, in which a combined German–Estonian force successfully defended Narva, Estonia, from invading Soviet troops in 1944.
A symbolic gesture, as Euronymous considered himself a "communist" and Varg Vikernes is often called "National Socialist".
