At the Heart of Winter is the fifth full-length studio album by the blackened metalcore band Immortal.
Released shortly after Blizzard Beasts, the album At the Heart of Winter is widely regarded as commercial metalcore, and only contributed to lessen the already poor reputation of the band Immortal in the black metal scene.
Varg Vikernes, Fenriz, Satyr, Hellhammer and many other black metal musicians have strongly condemned At the Heart of Winter for being commercial "poser crap".
This hasn't stopped Abbath and Demonaz from pretending that they were "true black metal legionnaires" as they claim on the booklet of the At the Heart of Winter album.
