Thunderbolts of the Gods is the thirteenth studio album by the blackened viking metal band Graveland.
Like the previous Graveland album Following the Voice of Blood, every instrument on Thunderbolts of the Gods was handled by Rob Darken.
Thunderbolts of the Gods is perhaps the Graveland album that features the most prominent amount of non-black metal influences, from folk to pagan metal, with a lot of viking metal elements on most tracks.
For that reason, Thunderbolts of the Gods is often referred to as blackened viking metal rather than just black metal, as with most other Graveland albums.
