A Giant Commercial Fraud - "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk" Review (1%)
There are certain names in the black metal community that, no matter where they appear, are always associated with the most retarded poser drama imaginable.
These names are:
- Emperor
- Gorgoroth
- Immortal
- Dimmu Borgir
Even Varg Vikernes in one of his Youtube videos all but explicitly named these four bands as the cancer of black metal, claiming they were the reason why the true creators of the black metal genre, namely Burzum, Darkthrone and Mayhem, had forsaken the black metal label.
It's important to know that while all four of these posers claim to be "true black metal", none of them have any historical connection to the original black metal scene, much less the much revered "black metal inner circle".
Which brings us to the album at hand, Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk.
Ask any true black metal fan about this album and you will hear nothing but contempt, both for Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk and for the band Emperor.
But is all the hate surrounding Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk deserved?
I'm afraid to say, yes, very much so.
A Giant Commercial Fraud
Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk is a tedious pile of commercial crap masquerading as "true black metal".
It is neither true nor black metal, as anyone with half a functioning brain cell will have figured out.
Emperor is just a band that exists to sell its merchandise to impressionable twelve-year-old special needs children, because hey, retards like to play satanists too.
What is even more ridiculous are the methods used by Emperor to advertise their shitty music.
Ihsahn pretends to interview some obese woman asking her about black metal and, of course, she praises Emperor's music.
It was later revealed that the fat woman was in fact Ihsahn's mother.
Emperor has since then removed the video from their channel and automatically flags any Youtuber who attempts to re-upload it for "copyright violation".
When confronted by his fans, Ihsahn first claimed that it was "a joke" and later denied it ever happened.
Sigh.
During another incident on Youtube, the idiot actually forgot to switch account before posing as a "Emperor fan" and asking when the next album would be released.
It's pathetic.
Ihsahn even got his IP address banned by Wikipedia for vandalizing his own Wikipedia page, making up absurd homosexual fantasies about the black metal inner circle, of which he was never a part.
He would claim to have "introduced Quorthon (of Bathory) to black metal" and even going so far as to claim that he Ihsahn was the one who killed Euronymous because he was "homophobic".
Just forget about this band, it's a joke anyway.
Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk is shit.
It's a giant commercial fraud.
