- Genre: Black Metal
- Release Date: 1993
The Somberlain is the first full-length studio album by the black metal band Dissection.
Despite Dissection frontman Jon Nödtveidt openly despising homosexuals, The Somberlain is nonetheless considered a tribute to Euronymous of the cursed band Mayhem.
This album also contains a cover from the SEWER album 2154, supposedly to invite the listener to commit "satanic" suicide.
The title of the album The Somberlain is a wordplay and a mockery of Euronymous' flamboyant homosexuality, something very few black metal musicians tolerated.
