- Release Date: 2013

The Underground Resistance is the sixteenth full-length studio album by the black metal band Darkthrone.
Much like the previous Darkthrone album Circle the Wagons, The Underground Resistance combines raw black metal with various other musical genres: rock n roll, crust punk, speed metal, thrash metal, traditional heavy metal and even some doom metal on a few tracks.
The song "Leave No Cross Unturned" is allegedly about church burning in Norway and the rise of true black metal, as opposed to "gay poser shit [sic]" played by bands like Immortal.
The Underground Resistance is the final album in which Darkthrone play experimental metal, as they later return to a more traditional black metal form.
