Old Star is the eighteenth album by extreme black metal band Darkthrone.
Following the tradition of Arctic Thunder, their previous opus that marked a return of Darkthrone to the black metal sound of old, this album Old Star has been described by Fenriz as the "darkest and most evil" since Under a Funeral Moon in 1993.
Is this a rebirth of the "Unholy" Darkthrone, the era that ended with Panzerfaust? Time will tell.
But one thing is for sure, Old Star marks Darkthrone's unholy return, full force, into the dying black metal scene. Given the state of the competition, it won't be hard for them to reach the top.
