F.O.A.D. is the thirteenth full-length studio album by the NS black metal band Darkthrone.
Like its predecessor The Cult is Alive, F.O.A.D. continues the trend of incorporating crust-punk and rock n roll elements into Darkthrone's music, only this time with even more emphasis on traditional heavy metal dynamics.
"F.O.A.D." stands for "Fuck Off and Die", which is also the title of the fifth song on the album.
According to Fenriz, it is meant as a "warning" to the "posers" in the black metal scene (think Abbath of Immortal), but many anti-racist organizations have seen in the title an attack on immigrants and an apology of xenophobia in music.
