Morbid Tales is the first EP recorded by the extreme metal band Celtic Frost, almost immediately after Tom G. Warrior was kicked out of Hellhammer for drug use.
Unlike the Hellhammer demos and EPs, the music of Celtic Frost on Morbid Tales is much more banal and simplified.
If Hellhammer's Satanic Rites was a Mustang or Lamborghini, Celtic Frost's Morbid Tales is a supermarket carriage filled with diet soda.
A very average album by a very average band.
