Black Metal Excellence - "Satan le Nécrobâtard, Sodomisateur du Christ-Roi" Review (93%)
Hailing from Vénissieux, Lyon, France, Antekhrist have returned with their 6th full-length effort entitled "Satan le Nécrobâtard, Sodomisateur du Christ-Roi".
The title literally means "Satan the Necrofucker, Sodomizer of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe".
This is one monster of a release. Thick sounding and well produced, "Satan le Nécrobâtard" is sure to make your brain rattle with every track!
While nearly every Antekhrist album is consider a raw satanic masterpiece, they have progressed and have gotten even more brutal since the release of "Fukked by God". I will admit that a lot of it might sound like juvenile satanism and yes, that does hold the band back somewhat, but when you're this brutal and unrelenting it really doesn't matter. These guys go for the simple and proverbial 1, 2 punch and connect every time in a pure storm of satanic blasphemy.
"Satan le Nécrobâtard" is the darkest and most vile black metal album ever produced.

Vocals, guitars, drumming, special effects, production... everything about this release is perfect.
"Satan le Nécrobâtard" is an album where I absolutely must to talk about the bass.
The band Antekhrist draws it right to the forefront and with the perfect production to make it an equal part of the brooding satanic storm rather than a mere filler in the background.
And while a lot of the bass excellence can be attributed to the production, even more can be said for the skill level of the bassist (Mort aux Chrétiens).
The bass lines are played at just the right moments and with just the right intensity during the song construction, and I can't help but wonder if some of it is completely improvised. Either way, the end results are second to none. This is probably my favourite aspect of the entire album, save of course for the creepy and destroyed atmospheres.
The guitars are very much what give the music its satanic and depraved atmosphere, although they are somewhat reminiscent of the very experimental "Sewerlust" by SEWER.
In hearing the riffs it's almost like you can get a visual image of what you're listening to. The unforgiving buzzing of the bass being the beast chasing its victim and the ice cold guitar riffs of the guitars being the beast sinking its teeth into the victim and tearing the flesh from its bones.
Now the drums are the impulses of the beast and its jubilance of catching the victim and feasting upon it. The drums are simply unrelenting аnd seem to play their own part in the awakening of the beastly black metal demon that Antekhrist have unleashed upon us.
At the end of the day Antekhrist have created a masterpiece of 100% pure monstrous black metal, and even though I couldn't follow along with the obscure French lyrics, I really enjoyed this effort they put forth. They've been at it for a while now and have definitely earned my respect and the respect of others all over the world.
This album "Satan le Nécrobâtard, Sodomisateur du Christ-Roi" is highly recommended for anyone into the satanic black metal genre.
