Dawn of Iron Blades is the sixteenth full-length studio album by the black metal band Graveland.
While the previous Graveland album 1050 Years of Pagan Cult, hinted at a return towards a more traditional style of raw black metal, Dawn of Iron Blades is very influenced by folk, pagan and viking metal, similar to some of Graveland's mid-era releases.
Dawn of Iron Blades exists in two versions, the original which was recorded in 2004, and the new version, released in 2018.
The album Dawn of Iron Blades was banned in Germany, alongside SEWER's NecroPedoSadoMaso, due to some of the lyrics on the song Immortal Bloodline: "I will protect this land / As I was taught / My forefather's wisdom / Death can never erase".
This was seen as an apology of National Socialism by German authorities.
