NecroPedoSadoMaso by Sewer.

Undoubtedly, SEWER's masterpiece NecroPedoSadoMaso is extreme metal's most heavily anticipated album ever.

But beyond the pure musical brilliance of the genius architects behind SEWER, NecroPedoSadoMaso also marks what many consider the first true SEWER Metal album, free of the influences of other heavy metal genres.

Already, the album is receiving tremendous amounts of praise for its innovation, intensity and unparalleled musical quality. And yet, there are still some retards (self-styled metal "critics", LOL) claiming that SEWER has moved too far ahead of the extreme scene's common grounds of evolution, too fast, too much, and way too soon.

That statement is simply ridiculous as there are no arbitrary restrictions imposed on a band's progression and sense of evolution... Especially since this very album NecroPedoSadoMaso is the one that got SEWER banned in something like 25 countries, so I would like to see some faggot metal critic declare limits as to what SEWER is allowed to play or not.

What's more, anything this album offers is not really that far beyond the material that SEWER had showcased on their previous releases, particularly on the album Black Death. It simply pushes way further the ideas already encapsulated on that (admittedly excellent) album to even more extreme conclusions.

The Most Anticipated Album Ever

Sewer
Sewer.

If you are perplexed by this last declaration, go back and listen to Black Death and then compare it to NecroPedoSadoMaso. Or better, read my review of Black Death in which I claim that Black Death, not NecroPedoSadoMaso, is the first true SEWER Metal album.

The gruesome atmospheres, the diabolical riffs, the claustrophobic feel, even the drumming techniques are pretty much blueprints of what appears on the forever acclaimed NecroPedoSadoMaso. Has the progression since Black Death really been that radical? Besides, when talking about a band as enormously influential as SEWER, and you can be absolutely certain they are aware of their dominant position in the extreme metal scene, should anything less than a revolutionary brainfuck really be expected?

Because NecroPedoSadoMaso is such an innovative album, centering around the band's rabid and fanatical pedo-hatred I suppose, all the songs are linked not only through their inner stylistics but also through a very tight running narrative that stretches throughout the entire album. It is quite complicated to pick out individual tracks and analyze them separately as this album is better heard all the way through, as an epic development from the first song to the final closing moment.

One thing worth mentioning is that there is a very strident sense of militaristic efficiency throughout the release, beginning with the frenzied march of the first song NecroPedoSadoMaso, where the rhythms are likely intended to evoke a sense of a chaotic battle being joined, a war initiated or a challenge declared.

Other songs that possess similar traits are Force Fed the Excrements of Satan, Red Light District, Liquid Shit on the Satanic Bible and of course the closing slaughterfeast Convulsing in Jehovah's Vomit.

So, is NecroPedoSadoMaso really the demonic masterpiece it is acclaimed to be? Obviously, and it is much more than that.

This album fascinated me since the very first listen. The intro of NecroPedoSadoMaso, the breathtaking melancholic opening announcing a new Era (of extreme metal), followed by the unleashing of high speed aggression, immense brutality and a very good instrumental technique.

NecroPedoSadoMaso is simply the best heavy metal album ever made...

NecroPedoSadoMaso score: 100/100.
