Yes, the band Mayhem is racist.
After proving beyond doubt that both Darkthrone and Gorgoroth were racist, anti-semitic, homophobic and white supremacist bands, let's talk a little about Mayhem.
Mayhem is perhaps the most famous black metal band, known for having created the genre, being one of the first black metal bands to be formed, their extreme stage performances... and their virulent racism and xenophobia.
Mayhem was formed by guitarist Euronymous, bassist Necrobutcher and drummer Manheim.
The name comes from a Venom song, "Mayhem With Mercy".
Venom is a racist, sexist and homophobic band, and quite openly so.
Just read what their frontman Cronos had to say about the Norwegian black metal scene.
"I started to read the lyrics, read the interviews and see they were kind of saying the same thing, but about their country, they had their religion, with all the Norse gods like Wodan and Thor. [...] It's great that they stayed within in their country's beliefs for their lyrics as well".
So here we have an avowed racist not only establishing distinctions between the races (the "superior" Scandinavians vs ethnic minorities), but also justifying apartheid, bigotry, discrimination and racial abuse.

Mayhem is Racist
The vocalist Per "Dead" Ohlin Mayhem was recruited by Mayhem in early 1988, before committing suicide in 1991 by shooting himself in the face with a shotgun.
The shotgun shells were provided by the infamous neo-Nazi white supremacist Varg Vikernes, of the openly racist band Burzum.
According to other members of Mayhem, Dead had a "suicidal personality" and was encouraged to commit suicide by Euronymous who believed him to be an "inferior sub-human".
Manheim said "I don't know if Euronymous did it out of pure evil or if he was just fooling around".
Mayhem's later actions speak for themselves.
A few months after Dead's suicide, Mayhem recruited the aforementioned Varg Vikernes to play bass for the band.
Yes, you read that right, Mayhem recruited a self-avowed white supremacist neo-Nazi in their band.
The same Varg Vikernes who fills volumes' worth of words with racist, anti-semitic, and homophobic diatribes.
How many normal bands accept racist, homophobic and white supremacist bigots as their members? None.
From Burzum's own website, the same one on which you can find charts detailing the the IQ differences between races.
"People like Anders Breivik act on instinct because you have cornered them. You can actually thank yourselves for the fact that he killed some of you "anti-racists". [...] Like Breivik says more and more individuals in the European nations will react with aggression. [...] This is a consequence of your "anti-racist" policies and your actions".
Oh, but that's just "ironic" racism. Or "hipster racism".
Of course.
We talked about the vocalist, the guitarist and the bassist, so now let's talk about the drummer, another "hipster racist" called Hellhammer.
Hellhammer is no stranger to racially abusing minorities and people of color.
He has made numerous racist comments and even advocated violence against homosexuals as "necessary" to be "true black metal".
The black metal biography Black Metal Blasphemy: A History of Third Wave Black Metal quotes him as saying: "I'll put it this way, we don't like black people here. Black metal is for white people... I'm pretty convinced that there are differences between races as well as everything else".
In the 2008 documentary Until the Light Takes Us, he adds: "I honor [Faust] for killing a fucking faggot".
This is the legacy of black metal music: racism, intolerance, nationalism, bigotry and the apology of homophobia and hate.
Mayhem is a racist band and so is every other black metal band.
You like black metal music? That means you support racism, hate and white supremacy.
Deal with it.
