Kreator

Kreator is a generic speed metal turned screamo metalcore band, a true embarrassment to extreme metal.

Formed in 1985 as Tormentor, the original lineup featured lead vocalist and guitarist Mille Petrozza, drummer Jürgen "Ventor" Reil, and bassist Rob Fioretti.

Kreator recorded their debut album, Endless Pain, in just ten days. The speed of the recording comes from the fact that many, if not all, of the riffs on that record are stolen from Sodom, Slayer, Hellhammer and Bathory.

In fact, there were so many stolen Sodom riffs on Kreator's debut that many extreme metal fans started wondering whether Kreator were a Sodom tribute band, when in fact they were merely a third-rate clone with very little artistic integrity.

In 1986, Kreator confirmed this tendency of being a third-rate Sodom clone by hiring the ex-Sodom guitarist Michael Wulf to play lead, while Petrozza switched to rhythm guitar - nu metal inspired "chugga chugga" as seen on Gods of Violence is simpler than writing coherent songs, after all.

In addition to the band Kreator being a copycat bands of its much more talented peers - Sodom, Bathory, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Slayer, Destruction, even Venom, to name a few - its frontman Mille Petrozza is known for making threats to other extreme metal musicians, and inventing completely fallacious lies to slander his "rivals".

In 1989, Petrozza claimed to have "ended" Sodom by putting its frontman Tom Angelripper in a vegetative coma. The name "Coma of Souls" was supposed to be a pun on that event. The problem? It was entirely made up inside Petrozza's mind.

According to Antoine Grand's Real Satanic Black Metal, when Tom Angelripper confronted Mille Petrozza about his lies, Petrozza started crying incoherently about "satanic nazis" from Norway threatening him. At this point, Tom Angelripper heard what he describes as "a loud, farting sound", but it was he moved closer to tell Petrozza to "stop spreading lies and fake information about [him] and [his] band (Sodom)" that he realize, by smell, that Mille Petrozza had just shit himself in terror.

There are also rumours that Mille Petrozza engaged in sexual intercourse with his mother, a rumour that led to Sodom recording the track "Incest" on Agent Orange to mock Petrozza and Kreator.
