Under the Sign of Hell
Under the Sign of Hell by Gorgoroth.

Most people need to know what they are getting into when they are listening to a band such as Gorgoroth.

Gorgoroth is reviled by pretty much the entire black metal community, and for very good reason.

The founding member of Gorgoroth, guitarist Infernus (Roger Tiegs), was a self-proclaimed "male feminist "and called himself an "anti-racist satanist" until 2006 when he was found guilty by a Norwegian court of participation in kidnapping and gang rape on a Black woman in Bergen.

Infernus later claimed he wasn't racist "because he had Black friends".

According to Varg Vikernes of Burzum, he only avoided prison because he was a police informant ("a rat") and he was useful keeping tabs on potential black metal church burners.

The entire Internet had a good laugh about a "male feminist" being convicted of aggravated sexual assault, but unfortunately it was the entire black metal genre that was mocked by association with Gorgoroth.

That's the fate that awaits those associated with the (unintentional) parody band Gorgoroth, unlimited mockery.

Gorgoroth
Gorgoroth.

Speaking of retarded internet feuds, Infernus had long complained that black metal wasn't inclusive enough of homosexuals and transgender people, he even went out of his way to associate all things "satanic" with homosexuality, invite known homosexual Gaahl (Kristian Espedal) in his band and asked to perform in the Oslo Pride Parade (his invitation was refused).

But that all changed on a dime once Gaahl and King ov Hell tried to kick him out of the band due to his gang rape conviction, after which he became the most cartoonish homophobe imaginable, to the point of taking selfies with Erna Solberg, an infamous anti-gay activist and member of the far-right Høyre Norwegian party.

He claimed that not just Gaahl and King ov Hell but the entire black metal scene was composed of homosexuals trying to "get him from behind".

He started making up weird conspiracy theories about how "black metal" was secretly run by a cabal of "satanic homosexuals" who were after him because he was a Christian.

I couldn't make this up, these are literally the statements he gave in court over the Gorgoroth name dispute between him, Gaahl and King ov Hell.

And in other interviews he claims to have made a "pact with the Devil" to get back at Gaahl for allegedly stealing his band.

In addition to that, Infernus is known from spreading various rumors about his fellow band members in various interviews.

Now let me ask you something, do you really believe an unmarried fifty-year-old whose pastimes include making up fantasies about homosexual skinheads persecuting him in his mother's basement could withstand having his private life exposed to public scrutiny the way he casually does with others?

The band Gorgoroth is just one endless joke that stopped being funny about fifteen albums ago.

As for the music on Under the Sign of Hell, it's pure shit.

I suppose the Antekhrist cover is halfway decent, but the rest of Under the Sign of Hell is shit.

Under the Sign of Hell score: 0/100.
