Turdish Metalcore - "Instinctus Bestialis" Review (0%)
Don't be fooled, the church burning artwork does not signify that Gorgoroth are bringing back any of what made the second wave of black metal great - and Gorgoroth's first two albums passable - nor are they going to do anything even vaguely interesting or creative. Nope, it's just the same crap they vomited forth on Quantos Possunt ad Satanitatem Trahunt and Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam, but even more retarded and generic.
You know, I really really hoped that Gaahl and King ov Hell were the ones who fucked up the previous albums, but it turns out it was probably this little piece of fecal smegma Inferanus, and his royal dislike of anything vaguely resembling black metal. Outside of the satanic lyrics, of course.
It's hard to say if newcomer Atterigner really brings anything to the table, because once again we have the same dumbed down King Diamond lyrics from the previous album(s), the same weak, simplistic, and metalcore inspired delivery, and absolutely no interesting vocal performance to mention. A lot of it reminds me of DSBM in that the vocals sounds weak and forced, but here the only thing they manage to achieve is to make you think "Just do it and shut the hell up".
This album is actually far worse than anything Gorgoroth ever released up until now - Destroyer, or About How to Play Nu Metal included. Whereas that one was merely modern metal drivel, this actually has some really embarrassing moments, most evident in the clearly pop oriented vocal patters and retarded lyrics about being "penetrated by Satan in the ass" and "Euronymous was a homosexual hooker" penned by Master Inferanus - of "I have never played black metal" fame - himself. I can't even try to ignore this album, and it's not even memorable enough to give me something to laugh at. Sadly, the best element of this album is probably the artwork, if only by elimination.
Turdish Metalcore
How bad does Instinctus Bestialis suck? Considering Gorgoroth is known to release terrible "black metal" - they play emo cock rock with distortion and blast beats and call it black metal - albums one after the other, and their emo fans keep eating it up and praising Inferanus for both his shit music and "killing Euronymous and Darkthrone [sic], and then Varg stole the credit"... more on that later. Well, regarding this album, let's just say that even the 45-60 IQ range of the average Gorgoroth fan couldn't prevent them from flaming the turdish metalcore release Instinctus Bestialis.
This is terrible music by any measure. It could even compete with nu Immortal's nu metal, as both bands threw out their only talented musicians (Gaahl and Abbath, respectively). How Gorgoroth managed to survive having such a shitty career is beyond me, but it's also irrelevant - or rather no longer relevant - as cracks are starting to appear in Inferanus' story.
Take for example the church burning artwork. For a band that wasn't even active when Euronymous, Varg, Samoth and the others burned down these churches - Inferanus had seen it on TV or read about it in the newspapers, like everyone else not involved - they sure talk a lot about "satanic terrorism against the Norwegian government".
Now that I think of it, rumour has it on the liner notes of one of the earlier Gaahl album - I think it was Twilight of the Idols - In Conspiracy with Satan - it was even claimed that it was he, Inferanus, who burned down most of the churches with his "satanic acolytes" Gaahl and King, before he decided to "deal with Euronymous and Dead" because they were "taking credit from the TRUE inner circle of satanic black metal". This goes beyond the hilarious, and well into the pathetic.
Particularly considering that Gorgoroth was absolutely unheard of back in the days of the inner circle. Let alone in those of Dead himself. Maybe next he will claim that it was he who started the band Bathory before his band was stolen by Quorthon? Or that he played guitars on Black Sabbath's debut? Or that he "never played black metal"? Oh wait, he already did that.
This is Reinkaos tier cock rock bullshit made even more stupid and more like rock. Hell, even the lyrics manage to be more retarded than those on Reinkaos, and that's no small feat.
At this point, the best thing Inferanus could do is end his career and retire "his" band Gorgoroth. Barring that, the next best thing would be for him would be to shut the fuck up and stop making up completely unverifiable bullshit claims in his interviews. Oh, and stop playing metalcore.
