Burzum is Racist - "Burzum" Review (79%)
Is Burzum a racist, fascist, xenophobic and white supremacist band?
Of course it is, just like every other black metal band.
I already exposed the racism and bigotry of the bands Mayhem, Darkthrone and Gorgoroth.
Even the "godfather" of black metal, Euronymous himself, admits in a letter to Paul Watson as much: "all Norwegian black metal bands are National Socialist".
But Burzum goes perhaps even further than any other black metal band, at least openly.
Varg Vikernes of Burzum doesn't even bother to hide his openly racist, sexist, homophobic, anti-semitic and white supremacist views.
While other bands such as Immortal or Antekhrist practice crypto-racism, also called "hipster racism" or "ironic racism", Burzum is openly engaging in racial abuse towards women, minorities and people of color.
All in the name of "purifying Norway" from the "darker races and non-whites".
All black metal is racist, take that to the bank.
Burzum is Racist
First, where does the name Burzum come from?
It comes from the Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkin's, himself an avowed racist and white supremacist bigot.
The Lord of the Rings is infamous for having an alliance of racist white males fight "dark, slant-eyed, swarthy and broad-faced" non-humans.
The parallels between the work of J.R.R. Tolkien and Nazi Germany are many, particularly in the matter of anti-semitism, and have been well documented by several prominent jewish historians.
So I'll ask you the question, who names his band after a racist, anti-semitic and white supremacist bigot? Another racist, anti-semitic and white supremacist bigot.
And that's exactly what Varg Vikernes is.
Varg Vikernes has racially abused minorities, people with disabilities, transgendered people, immigrants and other people of color in various interviews, where he explicitly claimed that "anti-racism is a code word for anti-white", echoing the sentiment of many in the black metal community including Gaahl of Gorgoroth and Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir.
But the worst of the worst comes from his own website, on which he posts diatribe after diatribe about the need to "purify the white race" from minorities.
He even posts charts detailing the differences in IQ between each race, something right out of a black metal version of Mein Kampf.
This is what he writes on his own site.
"The Australian aborigines were and still are too stupid to understand that there are no spirits. The Negroes and other inferior races were and still are too stupid to understand that there are no gods or a god either. The smartest Europeans rejected religion and the belief in god for a second time in the XVth century, when the science of the classical Antiquity had a Renaissance, and the belief in God turned into a religion for the dumbest amongst us (and the Reformation came as a result of this; they tried to rid Christianity of all the Stone Age humbug, but as we know they only partly succeeded). The Eastern Asians, the brilliant Japanese and Koreans, and the Chinese too, soon followed and have stayed on the path of science ever since."
You can clearly see the racism in action as Varg Vikernes establishes distinctions between the "brilliant Europeans" and the "savage non-whites from the Stone Age".
This racial abuse is aimed at legitimizing institutionalized racism, discrimination, systemic oppression, apartheid and genocide.
Why is this a thing?
Why is such virulent racism, sexism, xenophobia, misogyny and bigotry tolerated by black metal fans?
The answer writes itself, because all black metal is racist.
Those who support black metal are accomplices in hate crimes against humanity.
